Story: Reach the Top of Mount Kilimanjaro With Jason

Back to posts

Today, Jason Klein will tell us what it was like to climb to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro wearing the Eddie Bauer x Clim8® heated gloves.

Okay, so let’s get started.

Transcript

“Hi, my name is Jason Klein and me along with my friend Nico we decided, it was kind like a personal challenge, that we wanted to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.”

What was your biggest challenge there?
“My biggest challenge during the hike was probably the altitude. Luckily, the cold was not a real challenge for me because I was using Eddie Bauer x Clim8® gloves.”

How did you prepare yourself for this hike?
“Before the hike I probably prepare myself for about 6 months, so I used them to practice for the hike as well as for the real hike, it was great.”

How was the weather out there?
“About the time you got to the top, that’s when I had the gloves on pretty much every day. And it was probably, I would say toward the top, around 0°F.”

What were you able to do because you were using this heated gloves?
“Because I had the Eddie Bauer for Clim8® gloves, I was able to focus on the hike and I didn’t have to worry about the elements or anything like that.”

What do you think about the Clim8® app?
“What I love about the app is that all you have to do is create your account, set your preferences, and then it really takes care of the rest for you.”

Have you ever tried other heated gloves before?
“I’ve tested a couple of other heated gloves before, but they were kind of different because they had a button, so what we get about this one is the battery last longer.”

Describe your experience in three words.
“In three words I’ll describe my thermal experience as convenient, warm and long-lasting, I think.”

“Thank you, Eddie Bauer and Clim8, I really do appreciate everything you guys did for me, you guys really helped me to get to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro and I would never be able to do it without you guys, so thank you very much I appreciate it.”
